Wastewater Projects


Due to the passage of the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act , the Town of Strasburg must upgrade its existing wastewater treatment plant to meet the more stringent discharge requirements.  The Town staff is working to design an expanded facility that will produce a high quality effluent and provide additional treament capacity to serve future needs. 


Notice is hereby provided that on December 10, 2013 the Strasburg Town Council voted to award the Strasburg PPEA Project.  The Project consists of an upgrade to the Wastewater Treatment Plant and construction of a Public Works Facility.  The total amount of the proposed contract is $24,582,500.  Consistent with the Town’s PPEA guidelines, a copy of the proposed contract is publicly posted and available for review by members of the public at the Strasburg Town Hall, 174 East King Street, Strasburg, VA.  Written questions and comments on the proposed contract may be submitted to Judson Rex, Town Manager, via mail (174 East King Street, Strasburg, Virginia 22657) or email (jrex@strasburgva.com).


Update - The Strasburg Wastewater Treatment Plant upgrade has been completed.

The construction of the updated wastewater treatment facility began on May of 2014 with a completion date of June 2017
