MINUTES OF THE PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE STRASBURG TOWN COUNCIL HELD ON TUESDAY, APRIL 10, 2007, AT 7:15 P.M. IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS OF THE TOWN HALL.

COUNCIL MEMBERS present:  Mayor Crisman, Vice Mayor Taylor, and Council Members Le Vine, Mauck, Nicholson, Rinker, Terndrup, Wallace (arrived at 7:23 p.m.), and Whittle.

Mayor Crisman stated the purpose of the Public Hearing was to receive citizen comments on the vacation of a portion of North Street.  Reading from the Staff Report submitted by Town Manager Fauber, Mayor Crisman said, “The Town received a request from the adjoining property owners along North Street, specifically Mr. Terry Hamrick and Mike Painter and Patty Pomeroy to vacate the street.  Our current policy is that all property owners along the proposed street and or alley vacation request must agree to the request.  Mr. Albert Minor first objected to this request stating that he would not have access to several of his lots if North Street was vacated.  At a recent Streets Committee meeting, Mr. Minor agreed to the street vacation if the adjoining property owners were willing to have a new survey done reversing the lots to front on Crim Drive.”  Planner Amos said the survey has been completed and copies were included in the Council Packets.  Council Member Rinker then further explained how the lots would be by referring to the plats.

Mr. Albert Minor asked to see the plats referred to by Council Member Rinker.  As the sketch plat showed what had been discussed and agreed upon in the Streets Committee meeting, he had no objection.

Being no further speakers, the Public Hearing closed at 7:23 p.m.

Mayor Crisman opened the Public Hearing to receive citizen input on the following ordinance changes/amendments:

2-8.2(g)(k) C-2 Permitted Uses

As there were no speakers, the Public Hearing closed at 7:24 p.m.
