Strasburg Recycles!
Did you know that each ton of recyclables collected saves the Town $36 in landfill fees and about 5 cubic feet of space at the landfill? In 2011, Strasburg residents recycled 236 tons of material, saving the Town $8,505 in landfill fees. However, that 236 tons represents only 11.7% of all solid waste collected. WE CAN DO BETTER! As a community, let’s make a goal to recycle 400 TONS of material between July 2012 and June 2013.
How about a little friendly competition to help encourage recycling! For recycling collection, the Town is divided into two routes which are collected every-other week (click for a map):

Each month, the Town will track the amount of recycling collected on each route and report the progress on this website. The winning route will be recognized at a free community pool party in July 2013. In addition, the community-wide goal of recycling 400 tons during the next year will be tracked on the website.
