Code Red Notification System
The Town of Strasburg has contracted with Code Red to better inform residents of emergency situations and forward pertinent information. The system draws phone numbers and addresses from the public database available. This information is only as good as the data entered. Please do not assume because you have a working phone that your data is listed in the system. It is important for every household to enter their information into the system. Residents can decide if they want to receive all “General Information” or only “Emergency Notifications.” Residents can also opt to enter an email address and cell phone number to receive emails and text messages. Text messages are of value to those that are frequently away from home or commute to work. Subscribers can receive road closure information while in route, and therefore alternative routes can be planned. Due to the cost, many General Information messages, such as road closures, will only be sent by email or text. General Notification messages will appear in your caller ID as 855-969-4636 and Emergency Notifications will appear as 866-919-5000. Only emergency messages, such as imminent tornado watches, will be used during nighttime hours. Click here to enter your information and delivery method of your choice (phone call, email, text message or all). For those hearing impaired; be sure to check the box for TDD/TTY device. Businesses may register in order to receive information delivered to businesses only. If you do not have access to a computer, call the Strasburg Police Department at 465-5230 to subscribe or for any other questions about the system. The Code Red system is being paid for with a grant from the Department of Criminal Justice System.
