Participate in National Tourism Week!

National Tourism Week is May 5-11, 2019 and in an effort to mark the occasion, Shenandoah County Tourism and the Town of Strasburg are hoping to encourage locals to explore the variety of attractions and amenities in our own back yard. Our local residents can be great ambassadors when friends and family come to visit and are looking for things to do.

For that reason, we are encouraging local tourism-based businesses to offer some type incentive for local residents that week. Possibilities include a discount on admission or sales or maybe a special thank you item they get for visiting. Maybe it’s a fixed price three-course menu for locals or they get entered into a drawing for something at a later date if they visit during the week…. Also, if you’d like to extend a special discount or incentive to people other than locals, that is fine too!

We also plan to promote this list of participating businesses through local print advertising and social media as well as on our websites www.VisitShenandoahCounty.com and strasbvurgva.com.

Here’s what we need from you:

  1. Determine what you'd like to offer local residents the week of May 6-12: a discount, free admission, or some other type of incentive. (Participants must present a valid ID with local zipcode to qualify.)
  2. If you are interested in participating, click HERE to fill out a form detailing what you plan to offer. We must know if you are participating by March 15 in order to be included in print advertising.
  3. Promote your incentive on your own social media accounts and any paid advertising in local publications
  4. Make sure your staff is aware of the promotion that week so they are ready to offer the best experience to our residents.

Thanks in advance for your participation and for helping us to highlight the many outstanding experiences here in our own back yard!

Please give us a call if you have any questions.
