Department of Public Works

The Department of Public Works is responsible for maintaining the infrastructure that supports the daily functions of the Town of Strasburg. Through the maintenance and repair of streets, utilities, drainage systems, and public facilities, the department helps ensure a safe, reliable, and well-maintained community for residents, businesses, and visitors.

Public Works oversees a variety of essential services, including:

• Street maintenance and repairs
• Snow and ice removal
• Stormwater drainage system maintenance
• Traffic signs and pavement markings
• Sidewalk and public right-of-way maintenance
• Water distribution system maintenance and repairs
• Sewer collection system maintenance and repairs
• Water meter installation and replacement
• Utility locates and infrastructure support
• Fleet and equipment maintenance
• Support for capital improvement projects

The department maintains the Town's water distribution and sewer collection systems, including water and sewer mains, service lines, valves, hydrants, and related infrastructure. Public Works personnel respond to water main breaks, sewer system issues, utility emergencies, and other infrastructure-related concerns to help ensure reliable service throughout the community.

Public Works also plays a critical role in maintaining Town facilities, supporting community events, and assisting with infrastructure improvements that enhance safety, efficiency, and quality of life throughout Strasburg.
