Pay Grade: 108 Trainee, 110 Police Officer (PO, PO1, PO2, PO3)
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
The Position
The Town of Strasburg is seeking dedicated, community-minded Police Officers to join our team. You will perform protective service work including patrol, responding to calls for service, traffic enforcement, investigations, report writing, court testimony, and community outreach. Work is performed under the supervision of a Police Sergeant or designee.
Minimum Requirements

At least 21 years old, and a U.S. citizen.

Valid Commonwealth of Virginia driver’s license.

High school diploma or GED.

Ability to obtain Virginia DCJS Basic Law Enforcement certification within one year of hire.

No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history.

Ability to meet physical standards and maintain required certifications, including firearms, defensive tactics, and CPR/First Aid.
Preferred Qualifications

Virginia DCJS academy graduate.

Prior law-enforcement experience.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment under stress, and a commitment to community-oriented policing.
Schedule and Compensation
Full-time with benefits. Rotating shifts that include nights, weekends, and holidays. Overtime as needed. Compensation in accordance with the Town’s approved pay plan. Paid training opportunities may be available.
